Wait-staff/Manager & Cook- MUST have restaurant experience. We are seeking Shift Supervisors for each position also. Full and part-time available, must be available to work some weekends. Hours will increase as we go into Summer. Some applicants may be considered for continued Fall employment. If qualified and efficient this can result in year-round employment.

Job Duties Include: – Knowledge of the Point of Sale and how it works in regard to the menu, orders, discounts and gift certificates. –Full knowledge of the Ice Cream and Food Menu and the type of service The Bear provides to those with special diets -. -Present menus to patrons and answer questions about regular/specialty diet/menu items, making recommendations upon request. Inquire on any items that customers need more information on if you do not already have the knowledge – –Accurately write patrons’ food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff ensuring you accurately convey any special diets. Serve food, ice cream or beverages to patrons and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required. -Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.- Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. -Collect payments from customers and give accurate change.. -Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining. -Take orders from patrons for ice cream at Cone Bar as needed. -Prepare hot, cold, specialty drinks, ice cream for patrons. -Prep patrons side dishes, ice cream dishes, soups, drinks and all hospitality functions geared for customers. Maintain the parlor/ice cream area/banana bar/beverage station and soup area, ensuring it is sanitized per health code, neat in appearance. Ensure freshness of food and ingredients at soup steam table and banana bar, by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock. -Turn or stir and maintain foods to ensure even cooking. Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience. Maintain an accurate cash drawer and accurately report all tips.

Job Duties Include: Prepare, season, and cook dishes such as soups, meats, vegetables, or desserts in restaurants. May order supplies, keep records and accounts, price items on menu, or plan menu. -Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices. -Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. -Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock. -Turn or stir and maintain foods to ensure even cooking. Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience. -Bake, roast, broil, and steam meat, vegetables, and other foods. -Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment. -Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons. -Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils. -Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption. -Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. -Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils. -Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. -Cook and package batches of food, such as soups, quinoa, etc. which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold. -Prepare specialty foods such as Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, Burgers, Wraps, Hot dogs and dairy free items. -Must be able to adapt and follow specific methods that usually require short preparation time. -Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, oven, stove, soup warmer or griddles. -Read food order slips completely or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron, and prepare and cook food according to instructions. -Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared. -Take food and drink orders and receive payment from customers if necessary. -Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases. –
